Just the facts, Ma'am...
We are Dave and Tami - avid readers - and we began this blog together to pass along our love of shared books. We were on a road trip with a broken CD player and one copy of a new bestseller we both wanted to read, so we took turns driving while the other read aloud. We enjoyed it so much, that we continued the practice after returning home.
In the beginning, the blog was strictly book reviews, book-related events, and our campaign to encourage reading together as a couple. Over time is has morphed into a stream-of-consciousness about our life, frustrations, celebrations and some books - it's my therapy. Dave's not big on writing, so you'll notice that nearly all posts are written by me, but he's behind the scenes, sharing the books, encouraging, and giving me ideas - "You should put that on the blog!"
We are "empty nesters" with three grown children and the two cutest grandsons ever! We recently moved to a farm we call Green Acres (cause we aren't actually farmers and I don't do the whole outdoor thing much) in the southeast corner of Nebraska - but we're natives of Oklahoma and Kansas, respectively. Dave manages the local grain elevator. I am a former librarian in search of a book-related job, or a winning lottery ticket so I can quilt and read full-time.
We are also fans of "classic" TV - as you might have guessed by the Green Acres reference - and frequently quote our favorite episodes. The title of our blog is an homage to Columbo, one of my favorite TV detectives.
